What I’m building
Waseef Akhtar
One Question is a journal for iOS that asks you one thoughtful question a day. It’s my attempt to make reflection easier to start, without giving you another complicated habit to maintain.
It’s also where I’m exploring how to build with AI while keeping my own judgment in the work. I direct the design, use AI agents to help build it, and share what I learn along the way.
Dose is an open-source medication reminder app for Android, built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. It brings together my interests in useful everyday tools, simple interfaces, and learning in public.
Over the years, I’ve also built smaller Android tools and contributed to open-source projects, including Compose examples and the Cascade menu library. You can explore more on GitHub.
What you’ll find here
I write about building apps, design, and the things I’m learning through my own projects. There are also travel stories, book notes, and occasional reflections on everyday life.
I write a newsletter, too. Less consistently than I’d like, but I keep coming back to it. This site is a place to put those thoughts into words and share them.
A little beyond work
I’ve recently moved to Stockholm. Outside of software, my interests include travel, photography, music, and a good TV show.
I also once spent a day with Steve Wozniak and wrote a book about it, A Day with the Woz. That still deserves a mention here.
